The 15th 'Buitenspeeldag' is right around the corner

On the afternoon of Wednesday the 20th of April, the 15^th ‘Buitenspeeldag’ will take place. All our kids' favorite television channels, such as Nickelodeon, Ketnet, Studio 100 TV and VTM Kids, will shut down for the entire afternoon. The perfect encouragement for our kids to go out, play and enjoy some fresh air. No excuse to stay inside! Make sure to check for activities in your neighborhood. Usually there are several small and fun activities to participate in. If there’s nothing going on, get out there yourself. Ready, set, play!

Blue jeans were the working men’s pants. No wonder they’re the perfect pair of pants for kids to play outside! Planning for a game of playing marbles and sitting on your knees the entire afternoon? For the gamers

Growing up with all things tech-related, it isn’t strange that our kids are always thinking about their favorite games. What if we told you it isn’t necessary to totally miss out on their PlayStation or Minecraft during the Buitenspeeldag afternoon? Let's layer up!

From sunny and hot to rainy and cold in just about an hour, it might just happen. With the mood swings of our Belgian weather, it isn’t always easy to gather the right clothes. Layer up your kid’s outfit with a colorful jacket to keep them warm all day and avoid them getting a cold. This way the ever-changing weather won’t be able to hold them back!

Happy feet

Don’t make the mistake of giving your children a pair of ill-fitting shoes to play outside. Give your kid’s feet the proper support and keep them warm with a pair of awesome socks while running around. With these shoes, they can play all day long. Goodbye blisters and swelling!

Kids need fuel to keep going. And what tastes better than some freshly baked goods after a full day of playing? From heavenly cake to fantastic cookies, or even some mighty pancakes? Fill their tummies with a delicious snack to get them energized for the rest of the day!

Thank god for mother nature, giving our children the perfect playground for Buitenspeeldag. Give her something in return and gather your kids for a super cool and sustainable activity. Go for a long walk in your neighborhood or in the woods and pick up every piece of litter you come across. Two for the price of one: healthy outdoor air and a clean neighborhood.
