How to mix bold prints & statement patterns

SS21 menswear

Wearing prints and patterns is the easiest way to spread positivism through your outfit. However, combining different designs can be challenging. You can mix and match different prints for a statement outfit and a touch of fun, or combine them with neutrals to keep it casual. We have listed some tips and tricks for the best looks.

Prints similar in design

Prints similar in design, yet opposing in colors can still form a coherent overall look, like a striped T-shirt combined with a pair of striped shorts.

Go big or go home

Bold, graphic prints can be combined for a statement look. The more unlikely, the more stylish. For a safer look, wear clashing patterns that have the same color scheme, like a black and white printed shirt and black and white printed shoes.

Match colors

You can mix very different printed items, as long as they have the color tones, and still have a complementing look.

Nature-inspired

Floral prints and nature-inspired prints are very hard to match. For a bold look, you can combine a monotone floral print, like the white Lee Cooper tee with parrots, with a multicolor print.

Layering with basics

If you want to play it safe, you can layer with basic trousers and jackets in neutral colors.
