Happy Veganuary

Let’s go vegan in January!

Being completely vegan is one of the most impactful things you can do for the planet, but it can be difficult at first. Veganuary is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself to try the vegan lifestyle. Cutting out all things animal for one month, in your diet, but also in your daily attire? Let’s say yes! Some of our brands have already set a good example. Here’s three of them to get inspired!

Vegan and keto

Living a healthy lifestyle without compromising on taste already seems like an impossible combination. Now imagine it’s also vegan. OKONO is a Belgian food brand that is tasty, healthy and animal free. Luka Bresseel, the founder of the brand, got inspired by his father’s keto lifestyle and decided to make the whole thing more convenient. With OKONO you can enjoy granola, chocolate and bread high in fat, low on carbs and without sugar. Already hungry? So are we!

Vegan is good for the planet

As Juttu’s slogan claims the organisation is buddies with their brands - ‘Home of brands, house of friends’ - they've sure picked the right chums.

Like Matt&Nat, a Canadian accessory brand that’s been looking for new ways of producing in an animal-friendly and sustainable way every season. Perhaps it’s hard to tell, but yes, the leather of the bags and wallets is indeed fake. With ambassadors such as Natalie Portman, Olivia Wilde, Tobey Maguire and Charlize Theron, the brand is getting more and more worldwide attention.

But also our northerly neighbours are doing their part for the environment. Dutch company Seepje introduced 100% plant-based products that consist of the peels of the Sapindus Mukorossi fruit from the Himalayas. In contact with water, they release a natural soap that cleans and has an antibacterial effect. On top of that, Seepje looks after the welfare of the Nepalese peel farmer and his employees.

GOLDEN TIP: Choose wisely with colours from nature

Being friendly to nature doesn’t mean you have to lose your taste in fashion. GUESS has launched its Bio Dye Project capsule which contains pigments derived from plants and vegetables. Because the dyes are plant-based, they can return to nature without an ecological impact which reduces pollution, water consumption and even increases energy efficiency. By further diversifying the use of green technology and fabrics, GUESS continues to lead the way towards more sustainable fashion. We’re already a huge fan, and you?

Are you ready to join the journey and take part in Veganuary? With the following three tips in mind, we’re sure that you’ll succeed.

  1. Set yourself reasonable and achievable goals. Discover the reason why and how you’ll achieve your purpose. Do you want to try new types of food or do you want to stop buying make-up tested on animals? We all have to start somewhere.
  2. Get social. There are a lot of vegan influencers and blogs out there who provide some valuable information about veganism. Follow them, get inspired and inspire others.
  3. Better together. Participate in the challenge with a friend. Everything is more fun while doing it together!

If you’re trying Veganuary, we wish you the best of luck and keep our fingers crossed that you find it an inspiring and rewarding experience.
