  • Luxury is in the detail
  • In love with nature
  • Comfortable elegance

Trend 2: Back to the nillies

Inspired by the year 2000 • preppy is cool for school • Y2K for the win

Aren’t we all a bit nostalgic from time to time? What could be more fun than pimping old clothes or diving into your mom’s or dad’s old wardrobe? A trend to watch in SS23: Y2K. Yes, you heard it well: the nillies are back and better than ever! Dig up your former favorite items and relive them good ol’ days. Threw them all out? No worries. The Summer Spring 2023 collections are full of retro and nostalgic pieces. What type of 2000’s baby are you? Crop tops and baggy jeans, or short skirts and suspenders? The choice is yours!

In the SS23 collections, the nillies are more present than ever. BRAX loves to smarten up by adding a refined touch to casual looks. This year, their womenswear focuses on the nillies. Mesh knitwear tops, cargo pockets or nylon pleated trousers, they have it all. Another plus? Their collection is amazing when it comes to price/quality. No reason to hesitate, right?

Another big one this year: denim. And if you say denim, you say GUESS. The brand is known for its iconic jeans looks. So, for the fans of denim on the denim, there’s plenty more to come in 2023. GUESS’ collection for next year is also bound to inspire some serious wanderlust and daydreams. The warm colors and prints pair well with the overall nillies character of the collection. In short: It screams joy. Yes, please! The 2000’s really are everywhere.

Another brand that’s totally into the nillies this year? SUN68. They love to combine their Italian look with some good old 2000’s vibes. The SS23 collection is the perfect mix of sporty and preppy. We can see this in both their clothing and sneakers. But, for 2023 they decided to go back to their roots and bring back the sporty vibe.

So, if you’re totally into the 2000’s, you’re in luck because in 2023 Y2K is back for round two. Ready to spruce up your everyday fashion?

The idea is simple: every visible item you wear adds a point, from bold earrings to textured fabrics or standout shoes. Hit seven or eight points for a flawless look; dip below six and things may fall flat, go over ten and you risk doing too much. At MMBSY, we’re all about helping you find that sweet spot. With the pieces below, our brands bring just the right amount of flair, texture, or pop, so your outfit always lands just right.
