January 12th : Kiss a ginger day

We’re only a few weeks away from January 12th, the date where majestic red hair is going to be worshipped. Kiss a Ginger Day brings sweet kisses to redheads who may have once been teased for the color of their hair. It was created to support a more positive spin than its counterpoint to the November 2008 creation of a Kick A Ginger campaign on Facebook.

Having red hair is a bold statement, it’s fierce and also rare: less than 2 percent of the world’s population is born with red hair. Not only should redheads be proud, but also play it up all they can. One great way is to wear redhead friendly colors that complement their scarlet waves. We're rounding up the best colors to complement red hair color.

Green hues look amazing on all redheads. Most shades of green are instantly flattering to gingers, and emerald and olive greens were made for them.

Redheads on the paler end of the spectrum, might think wearing white and other light neutrals would wash you out, but not so. We find that white looks quite stylish and interesting on redheads, with the hair providing the injection of colour.

Many celebrities and fashion experts have proven otherwise—redheads can wear red. Just don't overdo it by wearing a shade of red identical to the hair color.
